Lodging and Camping
Camping
The SD State Fairgrounds hosts the largest campground in the state, with over 1,250 sites. There are 1,000 campsites with water and electricity, and many have sewer hookups. There are bath-houses located in all campgrounds.
Campsites are $40/night and are first come, first serve. Payment may be made on site during the event, or pre-payments may be made in advance by following the link below. Pre-payment does not guarantee a specific site. Campers brought before the event or left afterwards must pay $5/night to park (whether plugged in or unplugged).
Camping Pre-Payment
For Chapter 21 members who are working the event and wishing to stay in the chapter’s reserved campground, please contact Steve Masat.
All campers arriving at the fairgrounds will need to enter and register at Gate 1 on the south side of the fairgrounds. Campers will also use Gate 1 to enter and exit the fairgrounds.
There are two free waste dump sites available in the south part of the fairgrounds. There are laundry facilities available in Huron; please click here to find a location.
